"Madeline became my Co-Pilot, my Confidant, my Cheerleader & my Guru. She was my Vocal Coach and my LIFE Coach all in one!"
"The Artist2Artist program gave me guidence on all aspects of my jazz singing - artistic, emotional, philosophical, technical - there are no limits!"
In only a few sessions with Madeline, I felt a renewed sense of purpose around my singing career; I feel that through the sessions that I am opening up to my creativity beyond my music. I am finally developing a strategy for my music career after being stuck. I am also getting in touch with my Truths and expressing it in my voice and the songs I choose.
The Artist2Artist program is a real gem, getting to work one one with a wonderful singer, performer and all around wonderful person. If you are feeling stuck, work with Madeline. You won't be stuck for long!
Artist2Artist has been a life line for me. I turned to Madeline because I am releasing my debut CD this year
and I knew I would need advice and support from a professional artist who I could trust to guide me. I was looking for someone who was further down the path and could shine a light on my journey. But what I got was so much more than I could have imagined.
Madeline became my co-pilot, my confidant, my cheerleader and my Guru. She became my life coach and vocal coach all in one. I have never felt so supported, encouraged and understood. I leave every session feeling like there is someone in the world that really believes in me and that has been transformative. On top of the mentoring, Madeline is an amazing vocal coach and she knows how to bring out the best singer you can be. I'm releasing my first album thus year and I couldn't have done it without Madeline's support in our Artist2Artist sessions.
I am so happy I asked Madeline for help in taking my fledgling musical career to another level. I got that and more. Her generosity of spirit and knowledge of both the ART and the BIZ of music helped me make a much deeper connection with my music, catapulting me to a new creative level and a real belief in my own talent! Madeline was completely accessible, knowledgeable, honest and nuturing.
After years of procrastinating and floundering, I am in a brand new place! Working with Madeline was like reading a good book... you're glad it's finished, ....but you wish it wasn't over.

Eastman has been lauded for her original, “hip” take on the music prompting CD Review to write, “She doesn't tinker aimlessly, she reconstructs with purpose. She lays depth charges right from the beginning.” Stereophile Magazine said “She’s hitting from beginning to end, sizzling and snapping with electricity, sliding across bar lines, scatting choruses, slowing to a whisper, bending melody line to her will. She is IN CHARGE.”
She has produced and recorded eight critically acclaimed CDs featuring such luminaries as Tony Williams, Cedar Walton, Phil Woods, and Kenny Barron. Barron also joined Madeline on an upcoming album they recorded in Amsterdam with the famed 50-piece Metropole Orchestra.

Creativity isn’t a big deal. It’s like our breath. It’s just a part of who we are. Some of us don’t realize this. People who say, “Oh, I’m not creative,” or “I don’t have a creative bone in my body,” sound to me like they’re trying to convince themselves of something, rather than telling themselves the truth. They make the idea of creativity a BIG DEAL because then it will stay safely at arm’s length out of reach and require nothing of them.
Again, creativity isn’t a big deal. It’s not an event. It doesn’t so much happen, as it is...

You are meant to live an intimate and authentic life, a life that honors the depth of who you are, a life that nourishes your heart and expands your mind, a life that is unencumbered with what others think, a life that empowers you to be who you really are. And yet, with the pressure we feel from others and life in general, the question may remain, “How can I live such a life?” “What steps can I take toward being just ‘me?’” In my own life, I have found the following practices to be invaluable...

Music is about the only thing left that people don’t fight over. People couldn’t understand why my mama would have this blind kid out doing things like cutting wood for the fire. But her thing was: He may be blind, but he ain’t stupid. I am my own engineer. I remember one night we did a thing with Duke Ellington. He was on an oxygen tank until they called him to come out onstage. But he went out there...
